When you actively embarked on a dating spree, you tend to become intrigued with the idea of dating difference brands of guys. Since many of them leave before something can begin, you try to focus on something other than the inevitable leaving in order to keep from getting burnt out. When you've talked to at least 70 guys, it becomes a little bit of the game. Is it love already just that?
I know I know 70 sounds like either I'm a hoe or I embellish my stories to make for an interesting blog post.. Neither of which are true. On a dating site, if you've never had the pleasure or sheer entertainment of doing so, there are so many faces and screen names that reach out to you. Sometimes for days, and some make it past the app and then talk with you for weeks. That's how I easily got to the number 70. Of course that's just a guesstimation, it's not like I have a black book or anything of all the guys I've conversed with since my dating venture. My point? Just to walk you through a brief synopsis of the brands of guys a girl could collect on her Girl Scout vest. Think of them as patches.... I have several patches from the military. I can't remember exactly which branches because there were certainly more than a couple. I guess that's what happens when you lives in a big city and then you move to a port with the Citadel 15 minutes away. I have a patch that's a ginger. The verdict isn't out if he has a soul, but he was repulsed by my presence without makeup. He didn't say that in so many words, but his nonverbals certainly told such a tale. As did his non-response from there on out. I have a patch from blue collar workers. A carpenter, a man that built boats, and a construction worker are 3 that come to mind. Blue Collar men are strong and sweet.. for a time. Have a patch from a hipster but, that patch looks of course different from all the rest. It was a patch before any of the other ones were. Have a couple patches from musicians... Something I can't help, but something I know that doesn't last with the shows and the bars and the girls. Have more patches from bartenders than I'd care to admit. Drinking for free is only enticing for so long... Have a few patches from those far away. But distance made for one more reason why they wouldn't stay. Have two patches from guys I met on the beach. Wind in your hair and sand in your clothes was sure a fun thrill. Have a few patches from guys with a boat. Some incentives Aren't Enough to mask one's attitude. I aspired for a patch with similar morals but instead earned more than one patch from a guy that used religion against me. I collected patches from guys with unique names like Diamond, Kelby, Rocky, and Dagen. Accidentally earned patches from cheater cheater pumpkin eaters. Have two Patches from guys with rock hard abs. I have patch from a guy that I traveled with... one of my favorites. Patch from a drunken encounter at a bar... or two. Patch from guys I spent a night at the pool. Patch from a guy I snuck into my parent's house. Mischief managed. Patch from a hot guy that taught me pool whom looks like a pirate. Some guys can pull off leather. Frequent flyer miles patch from talking to a pilot. A patch from a guy that make six figures... money won't keep me around. Patch from a sliding down a fire station pole lol. A patch with a flame from a cook or two . A patch from a roller skater who could actually keep up with me on four wheels. A patch from a man with an accent, a must for your collection. A patch from a man who danced with you in his kitchen instead of in a dark club. A couple patches from unique dates like the ballet, the aquarium, and paddle boarding. A banging patch from a guy to teach you how to shoot guns. A patch from a guy you met on a bar crawl whom became something more... for a short while. A patch from a doctor whom couldn't prescribe longevity. A patch from a twin even though his brother was engaged. A patch with handcuffs. A patch as teacher's pet. A patch for fishermen who missed out on a good catch. A patch for a baseball player; cliche that he was only after homers. A patch for a hockey player or two or three. A patch for a rapper trying out the good life. A patch for a traveler... only to result in empty promises to take you with him. Patch for a gentleman well-versed in another language: Spanish and German. Patch for a guy that's out of your league. Of all the patches I've earned, I'm still lacking one for love. If you know how I can earn that one, give me a shout. I'll be at the corner of hopeful and promising with my wagon of Girl Scout cookies.
