She sat on her sunrise flight in a short dress with sleeves, unsure if she was cold from the change in altitude or because her vacation was over. Trying to close her eyes, a shiver traveled through her body that the passenger on her left couldn’t help but notice. He smiled and gestured to the jacket in his lap. Removing a white earpiece from her left ear, she whispered, “Are you— are you sure?” His smile broadened, followed by a nod. Accepting his chivalrous gesture engulfed her body in warmth, illustrated by the new rosy color on her cheeks. Conversation ignited and the flight more than “flew.” A not-so swift landing gave them something else to talk about. As the plane emptied its lively cargo, he grabbed a robust pink bag from the 22A overhead bin. “Not really your color,” she sneered as she followed him off the plane and bridge to the raucous airport. He handed the bag to her as he put one eye on the connections screen and the other on her. The strangers made their way to their next gate, only to find they were parallel. The laughter and conversation carried until “last call” for the generous man with the coat. He offered his number as not too be too forward. She offered an equal exchange because she feels the man should take initiative. He smiled, causing his blue eyes to flash. The rosy color returned to her cheeks as they said goodbye. Her fingers raced to her call screen as she began furiously scrolling for the favorites screen. Dialing her best friend she uttered, “They do exist!” The young voice on the other end of the call yawned, “Girl, it’s like 8:30 here.” Silence on the line. “Fine!” the best friend squealed, “What’d you discover on this trip? What exists?” Smiling as the flight attendant scanned her ticket she replied, “A good guy.” Poke Cake. Poke a hole in all you know from bad experiences and horror date stories of your friends. Like a pearl in an oyster, it's a rare find but it's inevitable you'll find it if you persevere. Assumptions have pushed me, and the girl in the story above, from great guys. Try to harness the sweetness you deserve and you'll be alright!
Mix a box of cake mix according to the directions as the Pillsbury Dough Boy directs. Although, I didn't even know he could write or read. I wonder where he got his education? While pondering that thought, add 1/2 bag of marshmallows to mix. If you absolutely LOVE marshmallows, then eat your heart out and add the bag in its entirety. Also add Heath Toffee Pieces, the whole 10 or so oz. Pour into 9X13 and bake as Pillsbury instructs. When you remove the cake, poke holes with a straw or the handle of a fork and douse with the contents of a condensed milk can. Enjoy like the life God gave you. MMMMMM!
