Stereotypically, women are the ones notorious for being hard to read. But not in this case.We had been talking for months. MONTHS. After our first date, I was certain he'd never talk to me again, due to the extreme awkwardness of the date's closing. We exchanged a hug similar to a business man being caught off-guard by a bum foaming at the mouth. Not exactly a romantic visual? Exactly. Needless to say, he didn't kiss me. Actually, another character from my blog witnessed this!! Remember, nice pizza boy? Mister Slice from the Nice Guys Are Endangered, Not Extinct. We were outside his pizza shop and he happened to be taking a smoke break and witnessed the whole thing. I didn't even notice him but as soon as he called my name I knew exactly who had spotted me. That night actually ended pretty well since I went to grab burgers with him and his coworker, also known as my pizza wifey. We took shots and had quite a ball. During this burger Fest, I asked him his opinion on the date's closure. He agreed that I would probably never hear from that guy again. Lo and behold, he text me a week later and asked if I was interested in going to a comedy show, then a kayaking date, then a brewery, another brewery, touring downtown, touring the Spanish Armada, haunted ghost tour.... the list went on. The dates were superb, yet each one ended with a peck. A simple, quick, tongueless peck. You might be thinking: But, I thought girls were extremely cautious about a man's physical advances.... True, BUT when someone peaks your interest, you want to at least know what they kiss like... or dare I say taste like... It kind of made me insecure. Doubt crept into my mind and insecurity flared up that he wasn't really interested and was just biding his time. Does he like me? Does he not find me attractive? Does he pity me and want to take me on these nice dates because he thinks I won't have the chance otherwise? That couldn't be it.. Why waste the money? Lol just kidding. After the doubt subsided, I mourned one of my favorite activities. Kissing is one of my favorites and for good reason(s). I won't bore you with such details ;) but, I felt I was neglecting my skills. As dates continued, I kind of got comfortable with the idea: enjoying great moments with very little physical pressure. I think there came a time where we madeout twice or thrice (I've always wanted to use that word)... So this date was definitely one to stand out.
