Do you posses power? How much? Why?It's not measured by muscle or stamina but by perseverance. Power in itself is the decision of proclaiming the strength you have and thinking and focusing on ways you have channeled it. Then, this propels the domino effect, teasing your brain to think how you can exhibit said power or even demand it. Everyone deserves power in their life, regardless how small. Will I eat this morning? Will I use power to scrounge up something? Will I continue to date someone who will diminish my worth, thus diminishing my self perception because I valued someone's perception of my worth instead of creating my own? No one wants to run through life completely unnoticed with no contribution to the 8 billion lives surrounding you. Closing in, blinding you with their shine-- trying to convince you of your darkness. But you have power. You have things they couldn't take from you with an army or forces beyond your realm of thinking. Your footprints that trail your path are beyond the wealth, merit, and reputation you have earned or betrothed or inherited. Power in go. Power in how slow. Power in your glow.Power in your pen, power in your step, power in pace, and power in your depth. The letters that flow, creating an artful combination of words, carefully in sequence for a statement. Bold or brash, light or whimsical, it's yours. Don't underestimate your verbal presence; the way your inflection of words rolling off your tongue make others feel. Is there anything so powerful? Many things, actions, words sift through memory like powered sugar for whipped cream. Believing you can harness the power within your veins is half the battle. It's interesting the power you can have on someone's day, week, or possibly their life. An act of kindness can affect their temperament, perspective, and possibly their outlook on the world.
I've had 4 non religious guys go to church with me and one that claim to be religious took me with him. One was just interested in getting in my pants, one was a friend that wanted to hang out and knew I was insistent on attending church that day, and the remaining two genuinely wanted to spend time with me and knew it held great merit to me. Each one of these was my power to disrupt their normal routine. Not one of the four would have gone without my influence. And I'm not saying that I coerced them into it, I'm just starting plainly the impression that I left on them and the apparent pleasure of my company. I'm not being pompous, I'm just saying why would you go to a structured, religious event that you have no affiliation with unless there is a motive or in this case and accompaniment for said event. The friend is the only one I still talk to but the influence I had on more than one occurrence is something I'll never forget. What's yours?
